It's possible that a person is added as a resource to a task to help do something.   They may contribute (or not), but now has come the time to remove them so they no longer get email updates each time someone else leaves a comment.

As a project manager, go to that task, click on the resources tab, then delete them.

Not to worry, they will not be deleted, just removed from that task.   (We plan to change this label in a soon to be released version of Dingo.)
