I just thought I’d drop you a note about my use of Taskhopper. I would like to report complete success with the application.
I have been using Taskhopper for about six weeks to track the efforts of a diverse group collaboratively managing a project for the New Orleans Public Schools. Our efforts involve the participation of account executives, engineers, project managers from several different organizations, and construction superintendents.
We operate under the federally funded Erate program to provide network engineering, active gear, and structured cabling systems for the schools that can be opened following Hurricane Katrina. The project is both massive and on a very strict timeline as school opening approaches.
Because our group is made up of individuals with varying degrees of project management and information management skills it would have been impossible to implement an application such as DotProject due to the learning curve and the “one time coalition” nature of the project. Unfortunately, most task management systems that are very easy to use and intuitive are also not very functional or feature rich.
I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to use Taskhopper. The members of the project support website I manage (Joomla driven) have taken quite quickly to the very new concept of internet based collaboration. Much of the success we have enjoyed is due to the ability to quickly and effectively track project activities with Taskhopper. Our site includes users that have more then thirty years in the communications field as project, construction, and account managers – consequently, they tend to react skeptically to the idea that a website can be an effective means of project management and coordination.
I am please to say that the ease of use and raw power of Taskhopper has made the transition to on-line task management almost effortless on my part. Each of my users is delighted with the ability to assign and track the status of critical tasks from any computer connected to the internet.
The developers of Taskhopper have effectively and elegantly bridged the gap between ease of use and capability with this application. I recommend Taskhopper to anyone looking for a way to integrate a full featured task management system into their site.
Thanks for the hard work and a job very well done.
Sincerely
Thomas D. Bennett, RCDD
