First Time Here?

If you are here for the first time... Welcome!

Taskhopper Dingo is a Joomla 1.5 native component that is designed for anyone who wants to manage clients, projects and tasks. Dingo is a full rewrite of Taskhopper, the Joomla 1.0.x component that was so good it was forked more than once! (Reloaded is our recommendation) We just released Dingo this year and we're full speed ahead on making it better, not bigger. Dingo will ALWAYS be a simple/fast method of managing projects. Dingo is a license-based, FULL open source product (no encryption/obfuscation). If you have any questions, we're here.  (Michigan, Budapest and Targu Mures, Romania)

Why Do We Use a Forum Instead of Dingo? PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 08 June 2009 20:08

It's a good question because someone could say, "If they don't use it, how can it be any good?"

While Dingo *could* provide the same base functions as a forum, that's not how we intended it.   Also, the operation of a forum is generally something that's already known by most meaning there's less of a learning curve in asking questions and finding answers.

We DO use Dingo, every day.   In every project we do, it's not an option.   If we're providing services for anyone in any Joomla environment, Dingo is there.

As a challenge, we like those, we are planning to build a new demo site that will try to make Dingo behave more like a forum.   We're doing this because we want to be able to accurately state what Dingo can and can't do.

Also, while we're on the topic of the forum.  When you make a request, you may sometimes see a notation in some of the posts such as [CR:xxxx].

A change request in the forum

This means a Change Request has been entering into our Dingo development system and will likely appear in the next release.

Thanks again for all your input.   We really appreciate you.

The CSS Manager in Dingo PDF Print E-mail

The CSS Menu in DingoWithin the latest release of Dingo [Rudolph] you will find a new tab in the backend called CSS.   It's the place where you will go to select the default style that Dingo will use.    To the left is how your Dingo menu will appear after a fresh install.

The reason we added this to Dingo was so you had more control over how Dingo appeared within your template.   We included a few CSS "skins" so you had some idea on how to build your own.

After you install (or update) make sure you select one of the styles else people will think Dingo is very ugly.

You can edit these CSS files from within the backend or conventionally via FTP.  (components/com_dingo/css)

If you would like to see what two of the styles look like, we've put some screen caps in the screenshot tour.

Rudolph -- Better Late Than Never PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 May 2009 15:38

Dingo 1.5.6 [Rudolph] is now available in the download area.

We admit we have been tardy on this release, but it ended up being much bigger than we had originally planned.   We had lots of feedback and tried to include as many of the requests as possible.   As a result, we ended up pushing back the release because we wanted to be extra careful not to introduce bugs into the core functionality.

We know that many of you had purchased a 2 month update package and so if you have expired within say, three weeks, we'll extend your subscription because we're late getting this one done.

Also, we are dumping Virtuemart.   That's been a thorn in our side since we started.  But, we had to have something in place.   Looking back, that wasn't a good choice -- but you know what they say about hindsight...by the end of the week, we'll have an alternate purchasing method in place.

If your subscription has recently expired, and you want to try the newest Dingo, please drop us a note and we'll update your account.

Thanks for all your patience and input.     Dingo Rudolph is pretty darn excellent... because of you.
