First Time Here?

If you are here for the first time... Welcome!

Taskhopper Dingo is a Joomla 1.5 native component that is designed for anyone who wants to manage clients, projects and tasks. Dingo is a full rewrite of Taskhopper, the Joomla 1.0.x component that was so good it was forked more than once! (Reloaded is our recommendation) We just released Dingo this year and we're full speed ahead on making it better, not bigger. Dingo will ALWAYS be a simple/fast method of managing projects. Dingo is a license-based, FULL open source product (no encryption/obfuscation). If you have any questions, we're here.  (Michigan, Budapest and Targu Mures, Romania)

Also, we are installing a new support ticket system here using the latest Dingo.   We'll post here as soon as that's avaialble.  Until then, please contact us directly with any issues or post your question in the forum if it's something of generic appeal.

NOTE:  There are two versions of 1.5.5 to support the change that was made in Joomla 1.5.10.   If you're running J1.5.10, download Klaudia B

Can Dingo help build better Joomla components? PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 16 March 2009 10:32

Not directly.   Good software is written by good programmers, designed by smart engineers.   However, Dingo can make good programmers and smart engineers more efficient.

We know this to be true.   Our point is not that we are good or smart.  Rather, we built Dingo with Taskhopper so we know it works.   If you're new to this site, that might sound a bit confusing.

Don't give up yet.  We'll explain.

We used Taskhopper, the Joomla 1.0.x task manager, to help organize the design of Dingo which began in January of 2008.  It wasn't until February of 2009 that Dingo was officially released.   But we didn't spend an entire year writing code.

We didn't want Dingo to just be a 1.5 rewrite of the original Taskhopper.  That would have been useful, but it certainly would have scored little on the clever and unique scale.   We spent many months using Taskhopper in the architectural design of Dingo and you don't realize it yet, but Dingo is very unique. Hopefully clever too.

We intentionally have not yet told you how, but will soon.

As software developers, we know Dingo is ideally suited for the design and management of software projects.  Whether the project is converting a static site, to something Joomla-based or creating a component, Dingo absolutely can heighten your efficiency.

Our mission is to help make you a better Joomla webmaster and that goes beyond helping you get Dingo installed.  Whatever lessons we learn along the way, we will to share them with you.

If you are a Joomla webmaster and would like to read how Dingo can be used to improve the estimation and quoting phase of a project, download How Dingo Can Help Build Better Joomla Components.

Leonora (1.5.4) Is Available PDF Print E-mail

Update:  Dingo 1.5.4 is available in the download area now.  If you are a current Dingo subscriber, you can login and download via the option in your user menu.

The next version of Dingo is ready and has been released to a small group of picky people in the QC/QA group.  While the development group has done their acceptance testing, we like to run it through twice just to make sure.  If all goes well, we will be posting the new version in the download area this afternoon.   Should we find any show-stopping bloopers, we will have them corrected and make the official release tomorrow AM.
