Dingo Flashes

In a soon to be released version of Dingo, we will be including a way to customize Dingo for specific business types.

e.g.,   Dingo is currently configured to support Joomla webmasters.   That means the item types look like this:

Content
Bug fix
Graphics
Install     ...

However, if someone is using Dingo to manage a film production studio, some of these don't fit.

Please post your item list in the forum so to improve future Dingo installations.

If you are here for the first time... Welcome!

Taskhopper Dingo is a Joomla 1.5 native component that is designed for anyone who wants to manage clients, projects and tasks. Dingo is a full rewrite of Taskhopper, the Joomla 1.0.x component that was so good it was forked more than once! (Reloaded is our recommendation) We just released Dingo this year and we're full speed ahead on making it better, not bigger. Dingo will ALWAYS be a simple/fast method of managing projects. Dingo is a license-based, FULL open source product (no encryption/obfuscation). If you have any questions, we're here.  (Michigan, Budapest and Targu Mures, Romania)

The next release of Dingo (1.5.4 Leonora) arrives March 6th.   If you have any requests, please get them to us soon.   We'll post our plans in the forum for what's to be included in this version.

Also, our download manager is ready.    If you have purchased a copy of Dingo, an email will be going out to you this afternoon to explain how this works.   But in a nutshell:  You log in here, go to Download Area in the User Menu and take what you want.  (All previous versions and updates will be there)   Your available window for downloading is 60 (or 365) days from your date of purchase.   If you want to purchase extra download support, we'll have that available soon.

What's a Primary Resource? PDF Print E-mail

In the old Taskhopper we had a field called "Assigned To" which implied there was a 1:1 relationship between task and worker.   In Dingo we have changed this a bit.   Instead of an "Assigned To" field, we have changed it to a Primary field.

When adding a new task item, there is a field called Primary.   This actually is just the 1st resource assigned.    It's up to you to decide if that person is the one who is accountable for getting the task completed.     If you select a resource in the Primary field (which is optional) and if the priority is greater than Low, then this Primary person will receive email notification(s).

How Visitor Tickets Work PDF Print E-mail

A "Visitor Ticket" is a Dingo term for allowing visitors (or anyone) to be able to make requests.  Think of it as a Joomla contact page that instead of just emailing you, also puts a record into your Dingo database.   Here's how it works:

Inside of the project screen, there is a new field called "Visible to Public" which looks like this:

The Visible to Public field
